Lesson Summery

Students will learn how to research and put together a paper and present it to friend on the laws concerning what is and is not legal concerning CD burning.

 

Learning Objective and Computer Functions Objective (TEKER Chapters 110.43. #13, 110.42. #13)

The student will research and learn the laws associated with using CD burners.

1.      Create a scenario about using a CD burner and evaluate whether it is legal or not.

a. Reflect on a personal situation to create scenario

2.      Research different resources to find the correct legal answers.

a. Use CD-Rom information that contains legal information.

b. Use the Library to find legal book.

c. See if there are any web sites on this issue.

3.      Prepare a report for students their own age including charts and images on their findings.

a. Use Word Processor to create the two page report

4.      Indicate what is and is not legal concerning CD Burning.

a. Use Word Processor to create presentation.

The students will have to locate the sources to find the law concerning CD burning.  Part of this lesson is for students to learn where to turn to find information.

This will be an individual work, were they research which issue is important to them.

Problem Statement

Your parents just bought you a new computer with a burner, once your friend found out, you now have a long list of requests for burning.  Not wanting to get in any trouble you need to find out what is and is not legal concerning CD burning.  Write a two-to three-page paper that will be presented to the class concerning the laws and consequences of CD burning.

Inserting Pictures

There is always more than one way to do things on the computer.  Here is three ways to put a picture in you document

The First way is:

  1. Once you have typed you paper.  Move your cursor to where you want the picture.  Then go to then insert menu, then picture, then click on clip art.
  2. In the search box type what picture you are looking for then click search.
  3. Select the picture you want and double click on it.

The Second way is:

  1. . This way is if you already have a picture saved some were. 
  2. Once you have typed you paper.  Move your cursor to where you want the picture.  Then go to then insert menu, then picture, then click on From File.
  3. Select the drive your picture is on the select the picture and the click insert

The Third is:

  1. This way is done buy having both the Internet open and you Word document.
  2. Find the Picture you want and right click your mouse and select copy.
  3. Switch over you Word document, right click where you want the picture and select past.
